"Many ways to become involved"

Music
We praise God through an active music ministry at our church. We have opportunities for all ages and we always welcome new people. Not only do our choirs provide music for worship, but we also have instrumentalists from our congregation and guest musicians who participate from time to time.

Sunday School
Our Sunday School is dedicated to providing Christian nurture to children of all ages. Our aim is to teach our children God's love as made real for us in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. By discussing the ways in which Bible stories and messages relate to our lives, we hope to teach our children about God's Word and how to live a Christian life.

Adult Education
Our Adult Education program at the Presbyterian Church seeks to provide a variety of study opportunities that help us to learn God's Word and be more open to the movement of God's Spirit as we seek to grow in faith. We have ongoing midweek Bible Studies and often have Adult Education after Worship.

Youth Programs
Ministry for the youth of our congregation and community is an important priority for our church. Through fellowship, service and study, our youth can experience spiritual growth and learn about their lives as Christians. We hope to make our church and Youth Group a sanctuary for them during this important time in their lives. Our two youth groups include kids from our church and the community at large.

Outreach & Mission
Our community of faith has a passion to continue Christ's work with the poor, the disadvantaged, the sick, and the oppressed. We support around 30 different mission projects and give tens of thousands of dollars annually. In addition, many people in our congregation are active in Midnight Run (a project with the homeless of NYC), the local Food Pantry, the Crop Walk for hunger and A-Home, a Westchester-based housing program for people with special needs.

We are especially excited that we send a group of youth and adult volunteers from our community to Appalachia each summer as Appalachia Service Project (ASP) volunteers! These volunteers do local community service and learn home repair skills in preparation for the mission trip to Appalachia, where they repair and rebuild homes for disadvantaged individuals and families.  The Pleasantville ASP Mission volunteers are gearing up for a mission trip to Logan County, West Virginia in July 2008. If you are interested in participating in this mission you can download an application form.

Fellowship
We gather in many ways to have Christian fellowship and friendship as we recognize our diverse personalities and needs. With so many busy lives, we see the church as a great place to make friends and build community.

Pray & Care
Prayer and care happens informally in our church family every day. We also have some formal ways that we use the power of prayer to strengthen and uplift ourselves and each other such as our Prayer Chain and monthly Healing Prayer time. Our Deacons are charged with caring for the needs of the people. We are also blessed to have a Parish Nurse who serves our congregation.
