Thank you for prayerfully considering joining our
ministry at the Pleasantville Presbyterian Church
Director of Christian Education and
Youth Ministries
Major Responsibilities:
- Lead
congregation in the nurture, education and faith development of children and
youth.
- Develop and nurture
1:1 relationships with the children, providing individual support where need
is seen.
- Work with Senior Pastor
to create ways to be involved in worship personally and with youth
participation.
- Engage and develop
relationships with parents of children and youth.
- Coordinate, plan,
schedule and lead weekly Youth Group meetings, including off-site events
and retreats.
- Develop, evaluate and
serve as contact person for Youth Mission projects.
- Maintain monthly Youth Newsletter and
Calendar.
- Participate in
Appalachia Service Project (ASP) as member of work team. Encourage
youth to participate in this one week summer ministry.
- Establish a working
relationship with the (Parent) Youth Council for development and support
of programs, budgets and financial need scholarships.
- Coordinate and manage
Pre-K through grade 12 Sunday school Program.
- Work with Christian
Education committee and Pastor to provide for:
- Teacher recruitment
- Teacher Training
- Curriculum evaluation
- Children's Chapel
- After school programs
Characteristics and
Qualifications:

The
preferred candidate will bring both broad educational background and experience
in the field of Christian Education and Youth Leadership: a Bachelor's degree
and/or a minimum of 3-5 years of youth leadership.

The
ideal candidate will be energetic and organized, and will have excellent
communication and interpersonal skills, including both speaking and listening.
We are seeking an approachable and dynamic leader who promotes cooperation,
teamwork and acceptance and is sensitive to learning differences.

The successful candidate will have
a faith centered long term program vision and be supportive of all aspects of
his or her role in our Sunday School, Youth Groups and After School Programs,
with the goal of becoming a vibrant presence in our community.

Salary starts in the mid-twenties,
negotiable upwards commensurate with education and/or experience.
