Appalachia Service Project

Pleasantville has a long tradition of sending volunteers to Central Appalachia each summer for a week-long home-repair ministry with the Appalachia Service Project, a Tennessee-based non-profit organization.  

In 2026, our community sent 27 volunteers to Talcott, West Virginia to make critical home repairs for local families.  The group of volunteers included adult team leaders, young adult leaders, and high school aged youths.  Every volunteer worked together during an intense week to make the homes warmer, safer, and drier.

 Thanks to the support of our community and our volunteers’ willingness to serve, we are now planning a mission trip for the summer of 2027!  If you are in the Pleasantville, NY area and would like to volunteer with us in 2027, please see the information packet and application or contact us at PleasantvilleASP@gmail.com.
