Minute for Stewardship

Minute for Stewardship - Esther Kim

Good morning, as a member of the stewardship committee, I wanted to share a quick minute of Stewardship ahead of our fall Stewardship season to speak to everyone on what the church means to me and how it has impacted my life.

For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Esther, and I’ve been with this church since I was in middle school. Therefore, this congregation has always been part of so many key stages of my life and experiences.

In my childhood, Youth Group helped me connect with my peers through faith, ASP opened opportunities to give back to the community outside of Pleasantville, and Confirmation helped shape my own faith in God.

In my young adult years, becoming a Deacon connected me to our congregation on a personal and emotional level, hosting Coffee hour and reaching out to others in need.

Now as an Elder and chair of the Finance committee, I came to understand how our church is operating and how much our participation and giving is shown from walking into the sanctuary seeing how we’ve evolved to using live streaming & monitors to each Committee and the Session coming together to plan ahead to help prepare for a permanent Pastor.

Each year has been a new opportunity to see and learn how being a part of this congregation has encouraged me to apply my gifts to give back to the congregation and how one giving built on faith and hard-work builds a life-long commitment to God.

I look forward to the new Stewardship season and hope everyone gets the opportunity to define their own stewardship goals and continue to grow in one’s faith.
